One book that really effectively describes how to explore this is called, Your Body Believes Every Word You Say. This book powerfully expresses how our beliefs are out pictured by the body. To reach the inner healer we must hold more positive pictures and use more power inducing ways of speaking. To learn more about this book click on the title.

It's important to examine and shift any core beliefs that don't reflect a connection to inner healer. These might be about weakness or illness being part of who you are, or running in your family etc. or information on how to shift away from these beliefs try reading my article Process of Shifting Limiting Beliefs.
