This is the best attempt to explain emotional release work I've come across. Finney clearly has an intimate knowledge of how to work effectively with material from the past. There are many ways to release and not all of them require this kind of expression. Yet I have to say sometimes a pure release of emotional energy is just what is needed. It seems to be empowering and it causes positive chemical cascades in the brain. It is similar to the concept of initiation. It is a finding of lost parts and reclaiming of who you are.
People with manic depression, glaucoma, severe heart disease, high blood pressure or a serious psychiatric diagnosis, should not do this kind of work. This work is only for those who take self-responsibility and want to move beyond their stuck points.
Also there are people such as myself who would be able to assist you in a deep process or in cases of becoming ungrounded. Before you do this work you should be capable of making a deep internal commitment to get help if it feels too rocky.
