They explain that they wouldn't know where to begin. This is a great beginning for anyone who wants to begin to rejuvenate. The author holds a doctorate in East West Psychology, she is a physical therapist and also has been a yoga instructor for nearly thirty years, you can take her words to the bank.

The author of Relax and Renew addresses real life by offering restorative poses that take five, or ten minutes as well as longer ones. These poses are largely passive and relaxing so they would be excellent for anyone with chronic fatigue, recovering from an illness or just feeling overtaxed. The exercises can be done without fanfare and careful planning.

The poses are designed to awaken the body's subtle energy system, vital organs, and immune system. Anyone with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder should consider the exercises for renewing the adrenal glands as they as powerfully impacted by PTSD. In Relax and Renew there is a series of supported poses for stress reduction. Practical programs for insomnia, headaches, back pain and breathing problems are outlined. There is a section on women's concerns such as pregnancy, menopause, and menstruation.

For those who feel unsupported in life, Relax and Renew teaches how to use blankets, pillows, etc. to physically support yourself. These poses are deeply affirming at a cellular level. You really get it that you deserve to rest and renew, and the support is there. For all of those who feel wound up and tense, maybe even brittle try a renewing pose and practice letting go in a safe context. The poses in this book would be assisted by use of the Acorn Relaxation Blend in out flower essence Solutions section. I also combine these poses with a hot bath and Epsom salts, either before or after posing. I like to release anything I'm still holding in the hot bath following my exercise experience.
